Types of Operations
Which types of operations were funded?

Regional framework operations (RFOs)

 Regional framework operation | |
A regional framework operation (RFO) was composed of a group of regional authorities or equivalent regional bodies aiming at exchanging experience on methodology and project-based activities. The RFO was based on a joint strategy covering the participating regions. This strategic framework was considered as a kind of “mini-programme” where the partners could choose the activities to be funded. Each RFO had to address a limited range of subjects relevant to the regions participating, thus covering a limited range of smaller projects. In these projects also private partners could be involved.

Individual projects

 Individual project | |
An individual project was a co-operation of public authorities or equivalent bodies aiming at exchanging experience on methodology and project-based activities as well as on common implementation of single projects.

Networks

 Networks | |
A network aimed to link public authorities or equivalent bodies of various regions inside and outside the European Union on project implementation methods and development related to regional policy topics (except from Innovative Actions). Only costs directly related to co-operation actions (e.g. seminars, study trips, exchange of staff) could be co-financed.
